This tool is for refugees who are interested in starting or continuing a career in education in the UK. You do not need to have a teaching qualification or experience but you should have an interest in at least one area of education in the UK.
The site is divided into two main parts. The first part is a form to fill in that provides information on your previous qualifications and experience. When you have completed this form you can print out a summary that will help you to make the right decision by checking your experience against the opportunities available.
The second part contains information on the possible routes into a career in education in the UK and the qualifications and experience you need to enter training or employment in this field.
- Why do you want to work in education?
- Do you want to be a teacher or work in a supporting role?
- What level do you want to teach?
- What experience and knowledge do you have of the UK education system?
- What relevant work experience and qualifications do you have?
- What is your level of English?
- How much time do you have for training and study?

Fill in the Personal Assessment Form and get your own personalised summary of experience. This will also register you to the Refugees into Teaching database.
For this you will need the following information:
- Your overseas qualifications and NARIC equivalence (if you have this)
- Your UK qualifications including English language qualifications
- Your CRB disclosure (if you have one)
Check that you are familiar with the structure of the UK Education System

- Professional Training looks at the courses you can take to gain the right qualifications for your chosen route
- Employment covers all the information you will need when you are ready to start looking for work and once you are in employment
